Happy 5th Anniversary!

Thank you Nana and Papa and Aunties for letting us celebrate our 5th anniversary together without children for an entire 24 hours!

We really had a wonderful time together. We got to go to the temple first, something we haven't done together in a very, very long time. Too long. It was so peaceful and happy to be there together. I made David take this picture of us to capture the happy moments right before leaving. I don't think we have very many pics of us at the temple. It was a gorgeous day too!
Next we tried to hurry downtown to have dinner at the Cheesecake Factory, one of our favorite places. We wanted to be at the Paramount by 7:30 and we didn't get to dinner until 6. They told us it would be about a 1/2 hour wait so we got some menus to look at to make our dinner selections ahead of time and made ourselves cozy leaning against the dessert case. A server accidentally spilled over a cup of coffee that got all over David's shirt.

The manager rushed over to see how she could help, got him some soda water, offered to pay for dry cleaning and apologized up and down. Luckily it didn't really burn him, it was just hot. With some scrubbing, you couldn't even see the coffee anymore. We were seated right away at a table plenty big looking out the window, had very speedy service (which came in handy since we wanted to be to the theatre sooner than later) and even some free dessert.

Here he is making sure the stain isn't noticeable (even though it is going to be dark in the theatre and dark outside very shortly).

Cheesey!

Woooooohooooo! Free cheesecake! HEAVEN!

Ok, he totally dared me to do this...I was supposed to get something out of it. I can't even remember what it was now. That's crummy! I don't even really like whipped cream.

We had been to the Paramount one other time to see the Lion King. I guess this sign will be taken down very soon if not already. I think someone was saying that it's an energy sucker and is so not "green."

I just thought this looked cool. We don't get out much.

This pic is funny because it looks like David is wearing a giant cowboy hat or black sombrero.

I forgot how pretty it is inside. It was fun to just walk around, kidless and enjoy each other.

Us in our seats, waiting for the show to begin.

It was a fantastic show. Now we know why so many people love it. We had a wonderful time together, having a real grown-up day/night out. I love my husband and even though we get pretty "daily," I love that we still have fun together when we can. He always tries to make me smile and laugh and really wants me to be happy. I am so grateful for that. I am grateful that he likes to try new things too...like going to a play on our anniversary instead of just an ordinary movie. You're the best!

My Crazy Two Year Old

Oh, how I love my Ethan! Lately he has been getting into all sorts of mischief. He is SOOOO 2!
Ethan caught in the act of drawing on the couch after nap time while I was upstairs doing laundry...
And drawing all over my Joyschool lesson. At least he left the scissors alone.

Lovely, buddy!

Permanent marker...why do I even own any of these?

New favorite past time, stomping in the mud with his boots.
Pumping out half the bottle of soap onto the floor is just so much fun!
He had to do it two days in a row. I guess I am trying to keep up on the cleaning.

Who needs a cup?

While I was blackberry picking, I think he was making sure I did a clean-out of my wallet. He knows it gets a little cluttered up after a couple of months. I'm sure he was just trying to help.

"But showing brothers how to spit out dinner is totally my job, Mom."

I love this one, the cheerios mountain. Forget the blocks...while Mom is in the shower, why don't I get into the pantry for some new things to play with.
Oops...busted.
I LOVE YOU!

Joyschool

Ethan started Joyschool September 1st and LOVES it! He is the most distracted, wild, disobedient child in the class but he loves every minute of it.

His favorite part of school is being with his friends. He could name every one of them (ok, there's only 4 more besides him in the group) after the first day of school...Hank, Harper, Rafe and Carson.

I'm so proud of Ethan for enjoying school so much and wanting to go every Tuesday and Thursday. He wakes up and can hardly wait to leave out the door. And when it's our turn to have it at our house, he can barely keep in his skin waiting for his friends to come over.

What a big boy!

The Puyallup Fair - Part I

So we decided to "do the Puyallup" this year on opening day. It was free so, why not right? Well, it was pretty crowded, Ethan was SUPER cranky, and it was a little too hot. It had some fun moments though.

We were going to go with Ethan's joyschool friends but I think everyone ended up doing their own thing. Luckily Nana went with us so I didn't go crazy trying to keep track of the boys (ok, mostly Ethan).

Here's our troop, waiting to get in.
We stopped first at the Fire Trucks. It was a huge hit with Ethan last year that I knew he would enjoy it again.

He even got a "tattoo" this time.

My little stinker, always trying to get into something.

Looks so natural...wonder if he'll be a firefighter some day.

Emren doesn't look too enthused but he didn't get his morning nap so could you blame him?

'Lijah just along for the ride.

Nana was so nice to pull prince Ethan in the wagon everywhere.
Thank you Nana!

Mommy and Ethan milking the cow...Ethan got it on the first try.
Way to go buddy. Maybe we should cut back on the "Farm Tractors" movie.

Good job Bessie!

The Gator that he wasn't sure he wanted to share.

TRACTORS....

TRACTORS....

TRACTORS!
Safety first.
After the tractors, we were past ready for some lunch. I had a coupon for del Taco and so I got the free taco and bought Ethan a quesadilla. Ethan was in such a crazy wild mood that he grabbed the taco from the table and it spilled all over the ground. There went Mama's lunch. I ended up having some bites of his quesadilla while he tormented brothers, broke the bead necklace we got at del Taco, and broke Mama's favorite sunglasses.

I think Ethan was tired out...so were we!

Emren was ready for some more.

'Lijah was just needing some down time with his milk.
Thanks Nana for an adventurous time at the fair!
