Family Night

So our Monday Family Home Evenings last all of about 5 minutes or so. By after dinner time, Ethan has a hard time sitting down to read a book (one of his favorite things to do) let alone pay attention to a lesson of any length. We usually just pick some pictures or a poem/short story to talk about in the Friend magazine. If anyone has any ideas for me, PLEASE let me know. These pics were after family night was over. I'm surprised Ethan stopped running crazy long enough to say hello to brothers.

Museum of Flight

David had an idea that we should all go to the Museum of Flight yesterday. I really didn't want to go and tried to convince him to just have a Father Son outing with Ethan but he wasn't going for it. We packed the troop up and headed out. In the rush of everything, I forgot the camera. That was one of the few reasons I decided to go - to be the photographer. I was so mad at myself so sorry, we don't have any pictures. But to see Ethan's face when he walked into the huge museum with airplanes hanging from the vaulted ceilings, tacked up on the walls and sitting on the ground all around him was priceless. He was fascinated to say the least. He had a lot longer attention span for things than I thought he would. I manned the babies while he and David did most of the touring but I'm glad I got to be a part of his fun day. Anyway, I got to pick where we went for lunch so that was a bonus for me!

Daddy let Ethan pick out a souvenir from the gift shop on the way out. Ethan was a little confused and thought it was just a big "playroom." He plopped himself onto the ground in front of the bins of toys to buy and started playing. David finally got him to pick out one thing (after much kicking and screaming) which ended up being a space shuttle...not even an airplane. Funny boy. He calls it his airplane though.

Laundry again...

I guess Elijah doesn't like laundry every day.

"Samich"

We had a busy day on Thursday so after our Library trip I told Ethan I would take him to McDonalds to get dinner. We were in the drive thru waiting our turn when Ethan started saying "samich." I turned around and realized he was pointing to the picture of a cheeseburger. It was our turn so I asked him, "Do you want chicken nuggets (the only thing he ever eats) or do you want a sandwich?" He said "Samich" with a big smile on his face.

I figured what the heck, it's only a couple of dollars if he wastes it. I got the cheeseburger and we headed home. That night, Ethan ate his first cheeseburger. He ate a little more than half of it...I was shocked. I'm so glad he wanted to try something new!!! I hope this is the beginning of a new trend. Not the trend of eating at McDonalds but a trend of trying new things.

Laundry

I guess the boys think that laundry is fun. I put Elijah in the basket while I threw the clothes into the washer and I guess Ethan thought is would be fun to join him. They are just so cute together (most of the time).

New Foods

The babies are now 7 months old but still kind of only 5 months old. The doctors wanted us to try rice cereal with them to help with their reflux (not to help them gain any weight...the chunky boys don't need help in that dept. any more). Emren loves the stuff but Elijah still isn't too interested. Anyway, I guess Ethan figured since Emren enjoys eating cereal so much he needed to try new things.

Ethan was eating his dessert last night while I had the boys on the floor near him getting their pj's on. I ran to go to the bathroom really quickly and came back out to Emren crying and Ethan running through the kitchen with his spoon in his hand. I get over to Emren and his face is covered in chocolate pudding. He's half choking because who knows how much of it Ethan tried sticking down his throat. I imediately get Emren situated and cleaned up while I yell at Ethan about how dangerous it is to give babies big boy food. Ethan starts to cry and my heart just broke. I realized he just wanted to share his "yummy chocolates" with brother. How sad it was, I'm sure, to do something nice and kind (like share things that you enjoy) and then get yelled at for it. Poor baby...he's such a good big brother.

Sorry - no pics for this one. I was too panicked to think about capturing the moment on camera.

SORRY!!!

Ok, this is a big fat sorry to all of our friends and family that we've done a terrible job of keeping in touch with. I feel like life has been a whirlwind ever since the boys came home from the hospital: survival, crazy hormones, more hospital visits and then just figuring the plain old day to day routine out. I am finally ready to commit to my blogging again though. I am sad it's been more than 5 months since I've documented our family's activities. So much has happened...so much has changed. I am not going to go backwards though - just going to begin with the now. Please forgive me and know that I love all of you very much. Without further ado...
