Boys will be Boys

The other day I was busy in the kitchen with things and heard some commotion. I finally stopped to check things out to find Emren jumping on top of Elijah, using the back of the couch as leverage! What a crazy little wrestle-mania man!
Elijah was half crying, half laughing...probably getting the air squished out of him.

So, I decided to help him out a little and turn the tables a bit.
At first, he didn't quite know what to do...

Then, he got into it.

You know what, Mr. Tough guy was loving every minute of it!

My little helper chef

Lately Ethan has really wanted to help me in the kitchen with just about anything (cooking-wise...I'm not talking about cleaning up, darn it). Tonight he even wanted to plate up the fruit and bread for everyone. I honestly like his enthusiasm for being in the kitchen and helping with food but sometimes it takes just about every ounce of patience in me to let him participate, especially when we're in a time crunch.
It's fun though when it's just one-on-one baking time, he and I. Nothing better than chocolate right off the spatula, huh Ethan! Wands up to ya, Bubba!

Morning Ritual

So every morning the boys do two things without fail (except if we sleep in too late, which isn't very often):
  • watch Curious George
  • eat a banana

I'm not a big banana fan but you would never be able to guess that from my boys. If we don't have bananas in the house, it's a sad, sad day. And they all love George...Emren even has a cute way of saying it. We are always sad when George is over.

The boys usually have to get dressed before going downstairs but this must have been one of those lazy mornings...how cute though!

Daddy's Birthday!

How is it August already?!! Daddy is now 29 (yesterday) and on Tuesday we got to celebrate by lunch and a movie...kid free! Thank you Nana! We had super yummy lunch at Cheesecake Factory and saw Inception (a super awesome movie). It is always nice to spend one on one time together and we love birthdays and anniversaries that give us an extra excuse to do so.

Yesterday we surprised Daddy at work and brought a huge chocolate cake and sang happy birthday to him there. He had to work late so it was nice of his boss to let us have a little party for him (it would have been too late for the boys to stay up and wait for him to get home). The boys always like visiting Daddy at work.

We are so lucky to have Daddy in our lives. He makes sure we are always laughing, always loved, always taken care of and most of all, always treats Mommy like she is the most special person in the world. I am so grateful my boys have such a good example to look up to and try to be like.

We love you Daddy!!!
