Our Les Grove Sprinkler Park Outing

We have been park hopping this summer and took a visit to a sprinkler park in Auburn last week. The boys LOVED it! It was really warm out and so it felt good to be in the water.

Elijah and Emren getting wet just a little.
Yummy, Ethan.

These guys liked the sprinklers but didn't feel adventurous enough to crawl around.

Wooohoooo!

I guess Ethan was just really thirsty that day.

Oh 'Lijah, you're so cute!

Friends

Today I was thinking how grateful I am for friends. They truly enrich our lives on a daily basis - even just with the little things.

David told me about this little experience after sacrament meeting today. He was on his way to take Ethan to nursery when he realized Ethan's friend Hank was running to catch up to them. As soon as the two of them met up, they held hands and made their way to class.

I thought of how this makes me so happy that Ethan has a friend who he feels safe and excited to try new things with. I love that he finds joy in interacting with others.

Daddy's Birthday

For David's birthday, we got to spend the day together, just the two of us. We went out to lunch at The Rock and got super stuffed with pizza. Yummy! Good choice, honey. Then we went shopping for some work shoes for him but had no luck. It was fun to just browse in peace and quiet. Then we went bowling where David completely blew my score out of the water. Last, we went putt-putt golfing. I usually win but it was definately David's day...he won by a landslide. I think he's been sneaking in some practice hours on the Tiger Woods Wii game when I'm sleeping or something. It was a fun day out Hon!

Then we had his family come over for cake and ice cream.
Ethan wanted to help blow out the candles. Daddy's little helper - always.

'Lijah wanted in on the cake thing.
He figured hanging out with Grandpa would give him his best chance.

Eddie was shocked that David got all the candles blown out.

Ethan is showing Daddy the beautiful picture he drew for him.

Emren playing with Grandpa...Weee!

We got Daddy a football and a baseball/bat so we can all play outside together.
Daddy loves playing games with the family.

At the end of the night, Emren thought he would clean up for us.

Bedtime for you little slugger. Happy Birthday Daddy!

The Twins' Frist Birthday

The boys' birthday party was so much fun! Thank you to all the friends and family that made it so memorable.

The plan was to have a splash pool party (since the boys LOVE the water) outside at the park downtown Orting. We figured it would be in the 80's so thought it was a good idea. Well, it ended up being cloudy and not very warm...but it wasn't raining so that was good. We didn't get to play in the water but the kids did some finger painting, bubble blowing, park playing and running around.

The babies loved the attention from everyone. Even though Emren is shy, he still likes being around other people. He knows his Auntie Kristin and hung out with her a lot.

Mommy didn't want their tummies to hurt so she gave them rice krispie duckies instead of cake. I'll give them some cake in October when their "adjusted 1 year" birthday comes around.

Wee! We love the swing. Won't be able to do this very much longer.

All the kids LOVED the pinata...

Well, sort of. Elijah got a little scared when Grandma was helping him with the bat.
He's still holding on to his bucket, waiting for that candy.

Emren's up to bat now. Grandpa is giving him some sound advice,
something about keeping his eye on the "ducky."

Emren even asked for another turn...Thanks Grandpa!

Come on Ethan...give it a good WHACK with the wrong side of the bat.

Finally Mommy had to have a good couple of turns (took a bit of aggression out) and out came the candy. The kids didn't need help with that part.

I was so busy having fun and trying to keep Ethan from covering his entire self with paints (unsuccessful) that I didn't take as many pictures as I wished I did. Sorry boys but trust me, you were cute, had fun and enjoyed the love that was there (and the food!).

A Reason to Celebrate!

I can't believe it's been so long since I've posted things on our blog. Sorry to everyone for not keeping up. I had to get myself back into gear, especially with the celebration of the twins' birthday already come and gone.

They had such a challenging start yet proved to us how strong they are. Their lives are miracles before our eyes and we are so grateful to be able to have them in our family circle. We have learned so much from them already. There was such a reason to celebrate this year!

Despite the chaos, struggles and trials we went through, having these boys brings pure joy to my heart. Their giggles and smiles, their sweet personalities that I get to be a part of everyday. I am so grateful they chose to come to this family and share their light with us.
